  • Driver Certificate of Professional Competence

    Fully accredited, we are able to offer flexible courses to meet the strict legal requirements of this EU-initiative.

     

    Driver Certificate of Professional Competence

     

    All of our DCPC instructors have been trained and have acquired extra qualifications allowing them to present you with many informative and precise DCPC courses for LGV and PCV.

     

    We have a dedicated fully equipped classrooms along with a DVSA approved loading demonstration trolley.


    Hills Driver Training is the only driving school in Sussex and one of only a few along the South Coast to offer all five modules of the Driver CPC programme.

     

    We are able to offer flexible courses to meet the specific demands of individual companies while meeting the strict legal requirements of this EU-wide initiative.


    All existing professional PCV drivers who hold a full, valid category D, D1, D+E or D1+E licence will need to complete 35 hours of Periodic Training by 19th September 2023.


    All existing professional LGV drivers who hold a full, valid category C, C1, C+E or C1+E licence will need to complete 35 hours of Periodic Training by 19th September 2024.






  • PCV DCPC Modules

    The Driver CPC Module Is Delivered In The Following Modules:

    • First Aid on the Road
    • Drivers Daily Routine
    • Drivers’ Hours
    • The Professional Driver
    • Analogue  and Digital Tachographs
    • Emergency Actions
    • Safe And Economic Driving (Theory) On The Road
    • Health And Safety
    • Passengers
    • Operational Compliance and Enforcement
    • Safe And Economic Driving (Practical) maximum training ratio (2:1)

    We have training periods on demand with a minimum of 1 and a maximum Of 20 candidates


    Training Days cover the 7hrs required annually


    We can also accommodate two 3 ½ hours sessions but these must be completed within a 24 hour period to comply with the current regulations


    Loyalty discounts are available for drivers previously trained by Hills Of Plumpton Driver Training.

  • DCPC Training Facts

    CPC: Certificate of Professional Competence


    35 hours of periodic training required every 5 years


    Professional lorry, bus or coach drivers need a CPC


    Fines of up to £1,000 for driving professionally without a CPC

  • The Driver CPC Module 4 Practical Training & Test

    Hills Of Plumpton are a DVSA Approved Accredited Company with our own Examiner for The Module 4 Practical CPC

     

    You will be trained and then tested on the following five sections of the Driver CPC Module 4 Practical Driving Test

     

     

    1) Ability to load the vehicle with due regard for safety rules and proper vehicle use.

    2) Ability to complete a vehicle safety check / Security of the vehicle and contents.

    3) Ability to prevent criminality and trafficking in illegal immigrants.

    4) Ability to assess emergency situations.

    5) Ability to prevent physical risk.
